10 Most Admired, Honoured and Respected People

hi again! wanna know the 10 most admired, honoured and respected people (based on my personal point of view) ever existed? well...these are the honourable candidates:

1 P.Ramlee - no objection right? he's the one and only for Malaysian people

2. Tun Dr. Mahathir - he's no doubt the man who brought Malaysia out of 1998-1999
economic turmoil. he's brilliant! a leader with a great vision for his country.

3. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim - he's my true leader! he fights for justice and he really walks
the talk. i've been supporting him since i was in high school. God answered my pray when
i met him face to face in Mecca exactly in front of Kaabah in Ramadhan month 2004. i shook
his hand and gave him a big hug. he just arrived from Germany after spending few
months there. as a true Islamic leader, Datuk Seri Anwar is the man who started the idea of
Perbankan Islam, Islamic based Fund, UIA, Bank Islam, PPRT (Program Pembangunan
Rakyat Termiskin) and many more...

4. Bill Gates - the richest man on earth! he didn't complete his studies at Massachusetts Institute of Technology or MIT but now...according to Harvard Business Review, he is one step ahead of Einstein and Thomas Alva Edison!

5. The Beatles - some people say charismatic leaders can be easily forgotten but not the Beatles! their songs stay forever. the story began in Harold Macmillan's“never had it so good" in Britain. it should be a fiction about: four teenagers with no more than eight O’Levels between them, running and biking and busing and busking all over Liverpool in search of new chords and old guitars and half-decent drum kit and any gig at all. they were determined to amount to something –six years later, they were the four most famous and musical men on earth, the best dressed and on a good day the most captivating people anyone can remember.

6. Diego Armando Maradona has been the greatest football player ever! to prove this, just think that the most beautiful goal in the history of football was scored by Maradona in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico against England, when he dribbled 6 English players and the goalkeeper scoring an amazing goal... just few minutes after his world-famous "Hand of God" goal, when he scored with his hand and the referee did not notice that. nobody can judge somebody else's life. even less can anyone judge such a difficult life as the one of a world-famous personality. but we must all judge Maradona for what he showed on the football fields all over the world, and we will certainly all agree that the spectacle he brought to the world of sports is something really unique and unforgettable. thanks for everything, DIEGO!

7. Muammar Gaddafi is more than just the Leader of the Libyan people. more than the leader of the struggling Arab Nation. more than the symbol of hope and freedom for the oppressed of Africa, Asia and Latin America. for he is above all the Leader of the World Revolution. a man of determination and courage who is carrying the torch of real liberty not just for his own people, but for the people of the entire world. these are not just mere words or idle praises because unlike many of this century's heads of state who have laid claim to the mantle of 'revolutionary leader', Muammar Al Gaddafi's ACTIONS and LIFE have earned him the title of Leader of the World Revolution. many men have apportioned to themselves the titles of Leader and Revolutionary but few reflect the great responsibilities of such appellations in even the smallest aspects of their lives. for me, Muammar Gaddafi or Muammar Al Qadhafi is a truly unique man, a man of a different calibre, a man whose example and thoughts inspire the struggling oppressed masses and haunts the oppressors. this is why he is loved by the people of the world but feared by the ruling exploiting cliques who know that his words and actions expose them for what they are.

8. Muhammad Ali represented the United States of America at the 1960 Rome Olympics, and won a gold medal in boxing. the medal came up missing shortly after he returned to the United States. a replacement gold medal was issued to him at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. he has inspired millions worldwide. he gave people hope and proved that anyone could overcome insurmountable odds. he gave people courage. he made fighters of us all. this is Ali and never comes another. As a Muslim, I think, Muhammad Ali has proved to others that Islam is a moderate, just and true religion. good job mate!

9. Steven Spielberg has won four Academy Awards and ranks among the most successful filmmakers in history, in terms of both critical acclaim and popular success; however, his films have also been derided as the archetype of modern Hollywood blockbuster film-making (commercialism over artistic purposes) by some of his critics. he has been nominated for six Academy Awards for Best Director, winning two of them (Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan), and seven of the films he directed were up for the Best Picture Oscar (Schindler's List won).

10. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the famous and controversial president, is a self-described "principlist"; that is, acting politically based on Islamic and revolutionary principles. one of his goals is "putting the petroleum income on people's tables," referring to Iran's oil profits being distributed among the poor. Ahmadinejad was the only presidential candidate who spoke out against future relations with the United States. in an interview with the press a few days before the elections, Ahmadinejad accused the United Nations of being "one-sided, stacked against the world of Islam. he has openly opposed the veto power given to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. in the same interview, he stated, "It is not just for a few states to sit and veto global approvals. should such a privilege continue to exist, the Muslim world with a population of nearly 1.5 billion should be extended the same privilege." in addition, he has defended Iran's nuclear program and has accused "a few arrogant powers" of attempting to limit Iran's industrial and technological development in this and other fields. I strongly support Iran's plan to acquire nuclear technology for peace purposes because if Israel is allowed by the US to have nuclear technology, why not Iran? double standard kan? US ni kalau negara Islam asyik nak buli je. bila Yahudi mengganas dibiarkan macam tak ada apa apa. apalah nak jadi.

Hilary Duff rules!

hi all! so what's the story morning glory? i miss my blog so much as much as i miss all my friends out there! i've been busy lately and i believe many of you guys have been informed about my new workplace - Seremban 2. a new township where you can easily see bungalows, terrace houses, apartments and semi detached houses under heavy construction. most of them are almost completed. well, enuff said....let's talk about my new staff. boring? grab a cup of coffee will ya! hahaha...just kidding dude! altogether i have 15 staff here. semua perempuan except my Shop Leader, Leong. at first, i was quite nervous, shaky and at times, my level of confidence was unpredictable. but as the old saying goes "don't judge the book by its cover ", now i'm happy to have energetic, efficient and cool staff working with me. i have to admit that women have good working attitude compare to men and when it comes to self discipline, well-organized and punctual, women are far ahead against men. no wonder female students have outnumbered male students in most universities in Malaysia nowadays. orang lelaki ni (bukan semualah ya! no offence guys!), kalau enjoy, over sangat! sampai CGPA selalu terbabas! contohnya orang yang namanya Muhammad Kamal tu. kalau jumpa si Kamal ni, tolong cubit pipi dia sikit ya! hahaha....

i believe all of us know who Hilary Duff is right? a cute, gorgeous actress cum talented singer. she started with Lizzie McGuire before she jumped into hit movies like Agent Cody Banks, Cheaper By The Dozen, A Cinderella Story, The Perfect Man etc...and i'm totally impressed with her achievement so far. she's still young but already a success story.

initially, she stormed the music charts, with singles "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean" settling nicely into the top 40. Hilary's first album, "Metamorphosis," debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, and eventually ascended to #1 in the following weeks. to date, it has sold more than 2 million copies. and for your info, she was rated the #1 Hottest Teen Female Star for 2003 based on her acting, singing, public appearances, and charity work.

for her 2003 debut album Metamorphosis, she won the 2004 Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Female Singer and Best New Female Artist at the 2004 World Music Awards. her video "Come Clean" was nominated for Best Pop Video at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards and the album was nominated for Best International Album at the 2004 Juno Awards(Canada's version of the Grammys). isn't she great guys? Hilary Duff is and will always be my idol eventhough she's younger than me. i strongly believe that it's okay to admire someone positively. there are few people that i really admire based on their achievement and contribution. i would discuss more about this in my next issue. stay put guys! don't go anywhere bcoz i'll be back in a short while. flame on!

i hate smokers who don't respect other people's feelings

hi all! nothing much i wanna say here except to express my anger towards smokers out there who do not respect non smokers' feelings. i had a bad experience yesterday when a group of losers smoking in a fine dining restaurant where smoking is totally and clearly prohibited. these young losers who thought they're cool enuff to break the rules, had irritated many non smokers in the restaurant (the restaurant should remain nameless) including myself. man! i really felt like kicking all of them out of the restaurant! their outfits showed that they're all from wealthy families. they are the kind of people that i call "losers with filthy stinking attitude". to tell you the truth, i am allergic to dust and smoke and can hardly breath properly when the two unwanted things are up in the air near me. and yesterday, i had to control my breath to avoid the 'asap rokok' from entering my lung. bosan gila! even my father could not stand their low class noisy attitude. i sincerely hope smokers out there would be more responsible and respect other people's feelings. being a non smoker since i was born, i've learnt to accept the fact that i have to cope up with this situation day in and day out. even most of my friends are smokers. but they are totally different! they respect non smokers and they are true responsible smokers! they only smoke at smoking areas. kalau nak merokok kat kedai mamak ke, gerai tepi jalan ke atau tempat yang dibenarkan merokok tu tak apalah. there's nothing wrong with that. but not when you guys are in fine dining restaurants, in shopping complexes etc. i hope all of us will respect each other, be united and understand each other's need. all rise! sing "negaraku" with me, will ya! hahaha...

the amazing Rossa!

well... i want to dedicate this post to the one and only Rossa-one of the amazing singers in Indonesia. her song - Pudar is in my "10 songs i've listened more than 50 times a day" chart. one of the losers i know used to say to me," macam mana la mamat ni boleh minat Rossa". then my answer would "politely" be," haha...who cares! i ain't hypocrite, dude! music is universal, remember?" i met Rossa last year when she came to Tower Records for meet-the-fan session. one thing that makes me salute this petite but gorgeous woman is her down to earth kind of attitude. i was so lucky to have a short conversation with her before she left KLCC to attend an interview session with the press. the conversation started with:

me: hi rossa! persembahan kamu tadi kok bagus banget sih!

rossa: hi juga! terima kaseh ya! kamu sempat nonton tadi kah! saya lagi nervous nih! anyway, thank you very much!

me: haha...pokoknya suara kamu bagus banget! Yoyok (her husband-a drummer for Padi, one of the best rock groups in Indonesia) di mana ya! saya nggak lihat tadi? apa dia tidak ikut ke Malaysia?

rossa: ya benar! tapi kamu seperti rapper dong! apa kamu, cara pemakaiannya memang begini? sebentar tadi saya fikir kamu dari kumpulan Too Phat! hahaha...

me: hahaha...Too Phat! well..i have no comment for that. memang saya selesa begini. saya rasa teman kamu sedang nungguin kamu di sana?

rossa: oh! itu PA saya. oklah! saya harus pergi dulu. maaf ya...nama kamu siapa? ya ampun! baru sekarang saya nanyain kamu. hahaha...

me: nama saya Kamal. nggak apa apa sih! yang penting kamu mahu bicara sama saya. kamu bagus ya, tidak sombong seperti artis artis lain.

rossa: hahaha...trima kasih dong! sebagai manusia, apa perlu kita sombong. saya lagi perluin sokongan peminat seperti kamu. orang seperti kamulah yang banyak membantu karir saya. saya harus pergi dulu yok! sampe jumpa lagi kamal! kalau diijinkan, kita bisa ketemu lagi. take care ya!

me: ok! thanks a lot juga! kamu sampain salam sama Yoyok ya!

Rossa was accompanied by her assistant who had been waiting for her patiently. both of them entered a Mercedes and after a few minutes, the car slowly left the area. i was still standing right across the building to buy some food at the stall nearby before i went to Lot 10 to meet my friends at SFCC.

bend it like BECKHAM!

hi all! World Cup 2006 is just around the corner. which team that you think will survive till the semi final match? it's hard to predict right? well...as for me, beside Argentina, Holland, Italy, South Korea and France, England is one of my all-time favorite teams. many people have said that England depend more on Wayne Rooney than other players in the team. eventhough i have no objection for that perception...i personally think that Beckham's crosses are the most important thing for England fans to count on. without those amazing crosses from the one and only David Beckham, it will be hard for Rooney or Michael Owen to score goals since they will be closely marked by the defenders of other team. Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard are also good goal providers but history has proven that Beckham played vital role in many international matches. he's not only the best free-kick taker in the world, Beckham is also famous for his charismatic leadership among his teammates. many England players not only look up to him but also listen to him whenever he gives instructions. i actually realize that there are many England fans out there who are not as supportive as they should be when it comes to Beckham's issue. as a fanatic soccer fan, i've tried to be as neutral as i can when analyzing every player's performance and beside unfair comments by sports commentators about David Beckham, i have found a little bit of biased judgement given to him. all football players in the world have their ups and downs - including Beckham. forget about the personal matters or family problem that he faced before and just concentrate on his all-out performance whenever he's on the pitch. i notice some football fans community envy his good looks and fame...but they need to realize that Beckham has contributed a lot to his country and all they, the so-called football fans can do are just big talking, backstabbing and bad mouthing. c'mon dude! be professional! when Beckham makes small mistake, people will act like he has sold his dignity and his country to terrorists but when other players do the same kind of mistake, people will just forgive them so easily. i hope this trend will be demolished soonest as possible. let's treat all players like one of us. to David Beckham, keep up the good work and ignore all negative comments that other people say about you. England must reach at least semi final if not the final match. teamwork is very important and to achieve that, you, as captain of England, must lead other teammates to give only the best in every game you guys gonna play. i'm your true fan and will always support you and your gifted talent no matter come hell or high water. Beckham rules!

to Epol aka Beckham...i miss all the good times we had in UITM. May Allah bless your soul and insyaallah, we'll meet again in jannah. al-fatihah!
